Yeah originally Ed was meant to be a Dalek, then decided to deviate the design to try and make her be her own thing

In fact the Drones in this toon are based a bit on her scrapped design

I love how differently Dust and Snowball fight in these 2 parts. Snowball is precise and swift while Dust is just, use brute force and improvise.

The thing a lot of stick fights that quite animators tend to forget when they try to emulate XiaoXiao; is that to really sell the scale and feat of this 1 vs. 100 style the main character needs to take some good hits. Properly knock your MC on their ass and scuff them up a bit. It's like comparing the original Oldboy Hallway fight, to the US remake of it. Totally misses the point of what made the original great, so there's no real impact on the viewer when Thanos gets stabbed at the end out of nowhere.

TL;DR.
More MCs need to take damage like in this to make it a more impressive fight.

Ah the nostalgia, I remember first seeing this on Flash Portal ages ago as well as this being my first Eddisode. Re-watching this brings back those amazing feelings. Love that Eddsworld is still spinning even after 10 years of Edd's passing.
